Join us for Write, if you please, a FESTAC 2077 presentation of our ongoing exploration of alternative publishing practices. Manifesto ACTS! is FESTAC 2077’s inaugural multi-year program. The project’s ultimate task–writing a manifesto for FESTAC 2077–initiates projects, experiences, and interactions which take up notions of the public and publicness, authorship and authority, spectacle and speculation, text and intertextuality.Through sonic and visual fragments from our 2023 and recent July workshop, Write, if you please explores publishing as an invitation, and printing as a public and collaborative process. Last Thursday, the 1st act of “A W.rking Title” with Yusuff Aina was a vision and an experience.Yusuff stepped out of his usual routine, crafted a safe space at Untitled, and invited everyone to join him in the process.His first invitation into his process was the question “What is the colour of your feelings?”And then he proceeded to paint on his canvas, because “In the making, it’s just feelings, no words”.“A W.rking Title” was created to give artists the freedom to express themselves beyond the confines of a traditional exhibition. It’s a safe space to share a work in progress, explore the creative process, and connect with an enthused and curious audience.Would we be seeing you at the 2nd Act?

AWCA Archive StoriesS16 Film Festival 2023 themed “To God Be the Glory”, hosted from 7th - 10th, December 2023 at Alliance Francais, Mike Adenuga Center.Produced by AWCA The S16 Film Festival 2023 took inspiration from the hopeful message “To God Be The Glory,” a common closing tagline in classic Nigerian cinema. The festival explored themes of optimism and positivity through film, focusing on how stories reflect the challenges and triumphs of daily life within communities.
