Fighting zombie hybrids

At the heart of our June issue is Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of d3, who revisits our magazine for the second time. Her leadership has played a defining role in shaping one of the region’s most influential creative communities. More than a decade after the district’s launch, she reflects on the vision behind its evolution, the importance of championing regional talent, and the creative energy that continues to position Dubai at the forefront of design, culture, and innovation.

في قلب عدد يونيو، تطلّ علينا خديجة البستكي، النائب الأول لرئيس مجموعة تيكوم حي دبي للتصميم، وتتألّق على غلاف مجلتنا للمرّة الثانية. لقد كان لدورها القيادي أثرٌ بالغٌ في تشكيل أحد أكثر المجتمعات الإبداعية تأثيراً في المنطقة. بعد أكثر من عقدٍ على انطلاق حي دبي للتصميم، تتأمّل خديجة في الرؤية الكامنة وراء تطوّره، وأهمية دعم المواهب الإقليمية، والطاقة الإبداعية التي تُواصل وضع دبي في طليعة التصميم والثقافة والابتكار.

يتميّز هذا العدد بالإبداع والحرفية، وبشخصياتٍ رائدة تدفع بالثقافة قدماً بطرقٍ مختلفة. ففي مجالات الموضة والفنّ والتصميم والأعمال، تبدو القصص شخصيةً ومرتبطةً ارتباطاً وثيقاً بالزخم الإبداعي المتنامي في المنطقة. وفي سياقٍ آخر، تكشف النقاشات حول الصحة والاستدامة والفنّ والتراث عن تركيزٍ مشترك على التميّز والفردية والتأثير الهادف.

أما السفر هذا الشهر، فيتنقّل بين أجواءٍ ومناظر طبيعيةٍ متنوعة، من سحر مدينة كان وإيقاع الريفييرا إلى مدينة البندقية خلال بينالي البندقية، حيث يغمر الفنّ والسحر المدينة. في جميع أنحاء أوروبا، يتقاطع التسوّق والثقافة بطرقٍ جديدة، بينما تعكس المساحات الإبداعية والصحية المتطوّرة في المنطقة، على الصعيد المحلي، مدينة تعيد تعريف نفسها باستمرار.
