ENDOMETRIOSIS EXCISION AND HYSTERECTOMY This past year I stepped away from being online to spend more time being in LIFE, and to truly prioritize my health— physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. I am more in awe than ever of how intrinsically entwined all facets of our health really are. Our bodies are always speaking. They talk to us in so many ways, too many of which we often (and unintentionally) disconnect from. I’ve spent 20 years living with varying degrees of chronic pain (among other symptoms). Ten of those years thinking (and being told) it was all normal, then the last ten knowing that it wasn’t (knowing it was endo) and still struggling to find help and answers. It has felt like my physical body has been pleading with me for a long time— and in January, she started screaming at me. After years and years of trying various ways to listen to and care for her— checking every other possible box, and trying to treat my symptoms— I finally made the decision to go forward with an endometriosis excision surgery and hysterectomy, as recommended by my doctors. My surgery was two months ago today, and I am very much still healing. I would LOVE to please hear from any of you who have had either of these surgeries, who has endometriosis (or adenomyosis!), or who thinks that they do. I told you that I would share openly about my own journey and experience with endometriosis— and I will. Please ask me ANYTHING. For now, I feel so deeply grateful. For my incredible husband who has witnessed my journey in this for nearly twenty years— always validating me and doing all he can to help me. For finally finding incredible doctors who listened to me. For being able to have an incredible endometriosis specialist surgeon. And for my incredible body. ❤️‍🩹❤️ For anyone still reading (this is most likely for you anyway!) THANK YOU for the love, thoughts, messages you’ve sent my way. It was scary but I did it 😮‍💨 surgery was successful and recovery has started. Thank you to everyone at @hspecialsurgery for making this such a smooth and comfortable process. Special thanks to @rileywilliamsmd for cleaning up the mess I made of my knee 😅
