“I don’t pay attention to the world ending. It has ended for me many times and began again in the morning.”Keep rising!! Life is full of setbacks but its how you handle that situation. Dealing with an injury the past month now and instead of complaining about it, or using it as an excuse to not show up for myself, I chose to make a way. Getting the physical therapy I need, spending time in recovery, training slightly different until I’m healed but making a way!!! Not training simply isn’t an option for me. Because 90% of the time the only thing in your way is YOU! Remove all the excuses (kids, spouse, no support, your job, no time, no energy, no money … etc etc). Find a way to put you first the same way you do for everyone else in your life but you! ** Small changes to a simple movement can often make all the difference! I started incorporating smith machine lunges a few months ago with a forward lean, slightly elevated front foot placement, drive the weight thru your heel of the forward foot, to the glute .. and it made a HUGE difference!!! Sumo squats have been a staple part of my routine for years! Start with a light/moderate weight you can control for 10 reps, and progressively add 5-10lbs every week. You are stronger than you think. This 130 felt like 230 when I untracked it .. the real work is taking it back to the rack 😣 *And if you lose your balance..reset your mind and get back to it!! Ladies, if you’re struggling to achieve growth, you may be switching up your workouts too often or not implementing progressive overload which is one of, if not the best way to ensure progress in your training.Going to the gym with no plan, doing random IG workouts, switching it up too often .. will make it difficult to see your progress.If your MAIN goal is to build better I would love to help you in your journey. 🔗Sign up through the link in my bio by @fitbyshanemaree

Random drop of smiles and skin glow selfies. The hard truth: “the person often making your life complicated is you!” This hit me so hard .. because it’s really a choice. Life’s going to happen and one thing I’ve learned, it keeps going with or without you. So make a choice to do better! Wake up, be grateful, pray about it, be patient with yourself but don’t make excuses, do what you said you were gonna do, train consistently even when you don’t want to, make better nutrition choices, smile more, and believe in yourself!!!! Ladies, in the midst of caring for everyone else, don’t forget to care for yourself. Your dreams, health, peace, and happiness matter just as much. Prioritizing yourself isn’t selfish-it’s necessary. You deserve rest, love, growth, and joy. Choose you too. Prioritizing yourself isn’t selfish, it’s survival.As women we often lose sight of ourselves doing for everyone else. It’s your responsibility to prioritize YOURSELF. It’s not your spouse, your kids, your job, your problems .. it’s you! It’s a choice to not take care of yourself. Be selfish about your health. Be selfish about your mental, physical, spiritual wellbeing! Your life depends on YOU to take control of it. I’ve caught myself lately making excuses and “not having time” to take care of the most important part of my day, ME. We’re human, it happens. Women are innately born to care for others, and you still can. If you’re not healthy how are you truly taking care of others!?! Let’s start NOW. No more waiting for tomorrow.
