After Brussels, we got stuck for a couple of days in rainy Lake Como. Somehow, we managed to make the best of it.

What an amazing week! I met so many amazing people and reunited with some of my absolute faves. I’m so, so proud of the whole Heated Rivalry crew. What a lovely bunch of people, seriously. And everyone is excited to get started on s2. Also, shoutout and congrats to the amazing North of North squad. So awesome to meet so many of them. 🥹😢 8 WEEKS!!! 💔🙏🏽

Just like that, life can change in the blink of an eye.

Today marks one week with Lyla’s cast on. Sunday was the first day I finally got her to smile… kind of.

In Lyla’s words:
“Mom, why do things keep happening to me? Today I was trying to be a kid and just play, and it was the BEST day!”🥹

Then the electric scooter accident happened, and she broke her wrist. 😢

We rushed to urgent care, and the doctor walked in and immediately said, “Oh yeah, that’s broken.” He explained that he needed to move the bone back into place immediately before putting on a temporary cast while we waited to see the orthopedic specialist.

At first, Lyla stayed positive. She thought she would get a short cast and still be able to dance, especially with Nationals, company activities, and so much summer fun ahead. But when we saw the orthopedic doctor, she looked at Lyla and said, “No dancing for eight weeks.” Then she looked at me and repeated, “No dancing for eight weeks,” even after transitioning to a short cast.💔

Lyla tried so hard to stay strong and hold it together, but this week has been filled with a lot of ups and downs. We are definitely riding an emotional roller coaster right now.🫶🏽

Still, we trust that God has a plan and a purpose in everything that happens. All we can do is take it one day at a time and focus on healing.🙏🏽

Thank you to everyone who has sent Lyla love, prayers, encouragement, messages, and check-ins. Every single one has helped more than you know, and we are so grateful for all of you. ❤️🙏🏽
