I’ve seen more teams than I can count with ridiculous procedures buried in their SOPs, yet those same teams will openly admit that in reality the one man owns his own door.

Your SOPs should reflect how you actually do business. If the one man owns the door in reality, why are you training something different?

Why would the standard you train to not reflect your MLCOA? Why would it fail to prepare you for your MDCOA?

Procedures exist to support techniques. Techniques exist to solve problems. Both should be built around efficiency.

Every process should be scrutinized. Step back and ask a simple question:

Can this be done better?

The answer is almost always yes.

A lot of CQB training has become a collection of obscure traditions not rooted in first hand experience that nobody has bothered to challenge. People continue doing things because that’s how they were taught, not because those things produce better outcomes.

Efficiency matters. Simplicity matters. Time matters.

If a process doesn’t make you faster, more effective, or more lethal, it is a requirement to take a second look at it.

Fans from more than a quarter of the countries taking part in the World Cup are facing travel bans, tighter restrictions or high visa rejection rates in the US.

A number of fans facing trouble gaining entry are from countries on US President Donald Trump's travel ban list - but the refusals aren't exclusive to that list.

One country not on Trump's list is Iraq, but fan Abdulla Adnan is facing a trip to neighbouring Jordan to try and get one after initially being refused.

One of the barriers is President Trump's list with bans and greater restrictions on visas for certain countries, including four competing at the World Cup - Haiti, Iran, Senegal and Ivory Coast. This means their citizens are barred from receiving the type of visitor visa that US authorities recommend for fans.

Senegalese fan Aliou Ngom felt there was no point even applying for a visa to watch his team play in the US, while Julien Kouadio Adonis from the Ivory Coast's fan association said "it's a form of segregation."

A State Department spokesman told the BBC that in every case "we will take the time necessary to ensure an applicant does not pose a risk to the safety and security of the United States."
