Save this for your next Galveston getaway!

We spent a few days on Galveston Island and had the best time. We stayed in an Airbnb right off Hershey Beach on the west end, ate our way through some local favorites, did a little shopping, and even went dolphin watching.

A huge thanks to everyone who sent food recommendations! We loved @leelandhousegtx and @fishermanswharfgalveston. The steak, salmon, shrimp, and crab dip were all worth ordering. 😋

Don’t miss @bay.watchdolphintours while you’re there. It was such a fun way to learn more about the island while spotting dolphins in the harbor. 🐬

And yes... I tried to come home with a hermit crab, but my family quickly shut that idea down. 😒😂

The drive from Oklahoma is a haul, but between @bucees and @innout, the road trip is half the fun

I saw this quote the other day, and it was like a kick in my side haha, so many people I know just try their best to put on a brave face in order to meet the day with what they hope it is. That’s a special power but it can come at a cost. Never let yourself forget that it’s okay to need help, to ask for it, to have rest without deserving or earning it. Rest is a necessity. Grace is something you need to offer yourself.

You have spent your whole life feeling like you’re not enough and yet here you are doing so much for so many people without even acknowledging the good things you bring. Your expectations for who you are or who you should be are too high and unrealistic! you don’t need to be a super hero. Please give yourself some time and space and kindness.

And if you know people like this in your life, please look out for them. Listen to them. The ones who are always doing their best to take care of everyone else, they might be the ones who need the most help!
