It started as a routine aerial publicity stunt: a helicopter hovering over the city to “increase community engagement.” No one expected the pilot to misread the cargo manifest and accidentally release 32,000 ping pong balls instead of promotional flyers. Within seconds, the city was transformed into what eyewitnesses described as “a cosmic game of indoor sports decided by gravity and poor decisions.”

The balls ricocheted through traffic, bounced off office windows, and somehow formed synchronized migration patterns down alleyways like they were late for a very important table tennis convention. People tried to remain calm, but it’s hard to maintain dignity when you’re being gently but relentlessly dribbled by airborne plastic spheres. By sunset, the city declared the event “technically weather,” while one local news anchor solemnly reported, “We are now living inside competitive physics.”
