Making photographs in the Abbey, where no wedding had taken place in over a thousand years, felt surreal. The logistics of a wedding like this for @mingxi11 and @momomarioho don’t really make sense until you’re actually there. Walking the spaces, feeling the temperature, seeing how the light is falling. Navigating the crowds, dodging lamb droppings, and weaving through thousands of tourists, all while making sure the @dior dress stayed perfectly clean. And this wasn’t even the wedding day. These images were taken just one day before their ceremony at Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey, a place that hadn’t hosted a wedding in nearly 1,000 years.Getting to the abbey was an adventure in itself. The climb was literally around 1,000 steps, and every one of them was worth it.Some of my favorite images from the entire experience were actually the behind-the-scenes photos. I only wish we had captured more of them, but we were busy chasing the light, but then again .. what’s new?! We took one evening during the three-day wedding celebration to create photographs in the beautiful green fields near Mont-Saint-Michel where the Wedding would be held the very next day. Mont-Saint-Michel has not seen a wedding hosted in its Abbey for nearly 1000 years.. you read this right.. 1000 years!! Pinch me, punch me, slap me!!! I was determined for @mingxi11 to wear her stunning @Dior gown in this setting. The logistics were incredibly challenging, and it took a lot of convincing and coordination from the entire team. But everyone came together to make it happen, and the weather could not have been more perfect.Being there felt like stepping into a film, something so breathtaking it hardly seemed real. The landscape was almost dreamlike, as if it had been created by imagination rather than nature itself. For her wedding to entrepreneur Mario Ho @momomarioho , model Ming Xi @mingxi11 chose a custom haute couture wedding gown by @dior . From the very beginning of her wedding planning journey, she knew one of her first appointments had to be with the storied French fashion house, long one of her favorites. During her initial fitting, fate intervened: Jonathan Anderson was in the atelier developing his inaugural haute couture collection for Dior. Among the designs was a striking floral gown inspired by the ceramic works of Magdalene Odundo.
