Rafe Pomerance was one of the earliest advocates in the fight against climate change. He rang the alarm and helped the United States government take the threat of a warming world seriously. Though they may never know his name, millions of people around the country and world have benefitted from his tenacious advocacy and fight for a cleaner planet.Rafe holds a special place in my heart. Husband of one of my mother's best friends, he was a kind, curious, and thoughtful person. I am so grateful for the conversations and memories we shared over the decades.Our entire family feels blessed to have had Rafe in our lives.
