When the opportunity to have a garden party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate 50 years as the UK’s leading youth charity arose, there was only one thing to do: put young people at the heart of it. Something we’ve done since 1976.Planning for today began last year, when young creatives were given the floor to imagine what a ‘youth takeover’ at Buckingham Palace could look like. These ideas became reality, and today our young people brought the garden to life with their incredible skills and talents, making this a 50th anniversary celebration like no other. We’re incredibly grateful to Our Royal Founding President, His Majesty The King and everyone who made today possible – especially the young people who made it unforgettable. 😊#KingsTrust50 by @kingstrust

“I had ambition to be an LGBTQ+ leader… but no idea where to start.” When @josephharwood reached out to The King’s Trust, they had a clear goal - to build a career in beauty and become a visible LGBTQ+ leader. What they needed was the support to get there.Through our Enterprise programme, Joseph found more than just business skills. This morning at Buckingham Palace, The King hosted a group of young people alongside our Goodwill Ambassador Sir @GarethSouthgate, and representatives of the youth sector to discuss challenges facing the next generation. “I just love helping people succeed.” This Volunteers’ Week, we’re celebrating the people behind the impact. For 50 years, The King’s Trust has supported more than 1.3m young people in the UK to build confidence and take their next steps, with over 6,500 volunteers giving their time each year. 💫We’re kicking things off with our @gmb Volunteer of the Year, Alan from Wales. For nearly 25 years, he’s mentored young entrepreneurs, showing up even through serious illness and personal loss.
