When you search what causes OCD, you’ll read “no known cause”...

That usually means no single cause. Genes, trauma, neurotransmitters, toxins, food sensitivities, and infections all play a part. Autoimmunity is one of them, and one of the least talked about.

When someone comes to my telehealth clinic with OCD, I always look at inflammation and immune markers, and I look at the gut.

Leaky gut, SIBO, parasites, and yeast problems are common in people with autoimmunity.

Food is also one of the biggest triggers, so an elimination diet is often where I start. CBT and other therapy also belong in the plan.

If you want to start with your own numbers, we have an at-home bloodwork panel through The Health Institute that includes inflammation markers to see where your baseline is.

Comment OCD and I’ll send you the article and other resources!
