If Democrats had spent much of President Donald Trump’s second term searching for a way to break his grip on Washington, voters had now handed them one. The midterms generated a blue wave that swept Republicans out of power in the House and the Senate, reversing the party’s fortunes just two years after Trump’s return to the White House. The results amounted to a decisive rebuke of a President whose handling of the economy, rising prices, and the war with Iran had fueled widespread discontent, and who spent the closing days of the campaign musing about candidates’ anatomy and dismissing Americans’ concerns over their bottom line. For the first time since Trump returned to Washington, Democrats will be able to set the legislative agenda, compel testimony from Administration officials, investigate allegations of corruption, and force Republicans to take difficult votes. Party leaders see an opportunity to turn the public’s discontent with Trump into a sustained argument for returning Democrats to the White House in 2028. Interviews with more than two dozen Democratic leaders, strategists, and members of Congress reveal a party itching to fight on nearly every front the President has opened. But when the midterm victory laps conclude, the Democrats’ deeper problems will be waiting for them. Even leading up to their midterm victory, surveys showed the party remains unpopular. Its leaders are divided over how far left to move, what kind of economic message will win back the voters who abandoned them in 2024, and how aggressively to confront Trump. Cricketing superstar Glenn Maxwell has now retired from international cricket after a 14-year Australian career marked by explosive batting and all-round prowess. Notable for two ODI World Cup wins (2015, 2023) and a T20 title (2021), his career highlight was an unbeaten 201 against Afghanistan in the 2023 World Cup. A news report in India Today stated that, struggling with injuries, Maxwell retired from ODIs in 2025 and was dropped from Australia's central contract ahead of 2026-27. His last international match was in February 2026, though he continues in T20 franchise leagues.💔🥹

You can now create Vox-style animations without touching a single keyframe 🗞️ Claude built every one of these scenes inside DaVinci Resolve. One Fusion comp per scene, every paper piece a real node, so you can still change anything afterwards. How: 1. Connect DaVinci Resolve to Claude (the connector needs Resolve Studio; on the free version Claude writes the comp and you import it, the guide shows both) 2. Give it my Vox style guide and one style picture 3. Give it any topic It's not one click. You're still the director. Comment VOX and I'll send you the full guide 😊 #davinciresolve #claudeai #motiondesign #explainer #fusion
