Back in 1998, Apple changed the way people looked at personal computers with the launch of the iconic iMac G3.

During an era when most computers were plain beige or grey boxes, Apple introduced something completely different. The iMac G3 featured a curved, translucent plastic design that allowed users to catch a glimpse of its internal components, making technology look more colourful, playful, and futuristic.

Initially launched in the striking Bondi Blue shade, the computer later arrived in a range of vibrant colours, including Blueberry, Grape, Tangerine, Lime, and Strawberry. These eye-catching designs helped transform computers from ordinary office equipment into products people were excited to display in their homes.

The iMac G3 also marked a significant chapter in Apple's history. Introduced following Steve Jobs' return to the company, it reflected a fresh design philosophy shaped by Jony Ive, focusing on simplicity, creativity, and making technology more accessible to everyday users.

Beyond its unique appearance, the iMac G3 played an important role in redefining Apple's identity and influencing the future of consumer technology.

Nearly three decades later, its colourful, transparent design remains one of the most recognisable symbols of late-1990s technology, reminding us of a time when computers began becoming more than just machines.

Would you love to see Apple bring back these colourful, transparent designs? 👀

I always start to think about Christmas now, mainly because Lyla’s birthday is out of the way (there’s nobody who isn’t involved in Lyla’s birthday). We get a brief moment of respite, and then I immediately start thinking about when I’ll put up the tree and what gifts I’m going to get for everyone. I’ve actually already bought some things for my sister from Australia, and yesterday I bought some things I thought would be nice for Molly and Louise at work. This is the time of year when the lists begin...

When it comes to Christmas shopping for close friends and family, if I see something that makes me think “That is so nice, I really love it”, I figure out who else I know that would really like it and that’s how I buy for people. I choose things I’d love for myself and rely on mutual taste... It’s an easy win… And I really do love giving, probably more than receiving… Are you the same? Are you also already starting to collate a list on your phone?

Speaking of incredible things I would buy for myself, the Trinny London gift sets are officially here. You can shop them at the link in my bio.

Unfortunately posting a meme with a normal caption doesn’t seem to be enough for Instagram anymore. They keep flagging posts as unoriginal so now I’ve got to write a big paragraph underneath everything to try and avoid it happening again. It’s also why you’ve probably seen every account suddenly writing essays with ChatGPT. Don’t really like doing those so I’ve wrote this instead. Hope you’re enjoying the extra words Zuckerberg.
