If They Treated Him Well He Won’t Distance Himself From Them And They Won’t Be Granting Interviews. They Didn’t Love Him –Toluwanisings’ Uncle Slams Singer’s Paternal Family The younger brother of the mother of late gospel singer Toluwanisings has broken his silence amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the singer’s burial, criticising those granting interviews about the matter. In a video shared online, the singer’s maternal uncle expressed concern over the development, insisting that people who genuinely loved the deceased should not be granting interviews about the circumstances surrounding his death and burial. He said, “Hello, everybody. At this point, we can’t keep quiet, especially after the incident that happened. Even though we are still grieving, the way things are going is becoming concerning. “There is no way anyone in their right mind who truly loved the deceased would grant an interview on this matter, let alone one discussing how someone is living in a house and other related issues. “The truth is, if the people granting these interviews had treated Toluwanisings well while he was alive, he would not have distanced himself from them. “I was his mentor. If you heard what he went through during his lifetime, you would stone all those people going around granting interviews.
Hong Kong pro-democracy campaigner Joshua Wong's time in prison has been extended after a court Thursday meted out a 10-year sentence over a second national security conviction. Wong became the face of Hong Kong's now-decimated pro-democracy movement when he was a teenager, and entered prison for the first time at 23. He turned 30 last month. In September, he pleaded guilty to conspiring with fellow activists to invite foreign sanctions against China and Hong Kong in 2020 – the year Beijing introduced the city's National Security Law, which led to a crackdown on dissent, the shuttering of vocal news outlets, and the dissolution of civic groups. In the latest case, prosecutors accused Wong of conspiring with others to lobby the United States and other countries to sanction China and Hong Kong, prior to the law's imposition. Wong is already serving 4 years and 8 months in prison, after pleading guilty in a landmark subversion trial in 2024. He was due for release in January.
