It's not often that you get to write liner notes for one of the best selling jazz albums of all time, but that's what I've managed to go and do. Deodato's two 1973 albums for CTI, 'Prelude' and 'Deodato 2' compiled on hybrid multichannel SACD from Dutton Vocalion, including Creed Taylor and Rudy Van Gelder's legendary quadraphonic mixes, for the first time digitally anywhere. There's a ridiculous amount of talent on these two albums as well, including Billy Cobham, Stanley Clarke, Rick Marotta, John Tropea, Ron Carter, and Hubert Laws, and of course words by yours truly.
