Elena Yates. A name to most of you that you don’t know. For the people who are lucky enough to know that name, this girl right here is one of the most amazing people in the world. When we met in kindergarten, she made it her obligation to become friends with me. Throughout the years we just became so close. She hated kickball, but would still come to recess and support me. She would always go to Japan and then bring me back things, that I still have with me to this day. When we reconnected in 6th grade, she talked to me and wanted to be filled in on my life. This girl right here built bridges for me to cross, she rekindled fires that I thought burned out a while ago. She made me laugh and we could rant for hours, or try to see what boys was cute or not. Seeing her today was one of the hardest things in the world. God is gaining another angel, and as much as it pains me to say, she is in a much better place. I regret some of the things we talked about and never did. I regret not putting in more of an effort to hangout. We will have you in our hearts, and will never forget you. Wherever I go, you will always be by my side. Whatever I do from now on is for not only myself but for you too. Her family will be in my prayers. Today, she grew her wings and is joined with the big man upstairs. Elena, I want you to know how much I love you, and that this is not my goodbye, but only a see you later.❤️
