A heartbreaking loss for the football world. 💔 CD Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel has tragically passed away after being unable to overcome the serious injuries sustained during the match against FC Andorra. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family, friends, teammates and everyone at Tenerife during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Jesús. 🕊️ #rvcjinsta
When I lost Kyle, my world changed in ways I never could have imagined. But even in the deepest heartache, God has continued to show me His love through the incredible people who have surrounded me, lifted us up, and carried me through days I never thought I could face. As the holidays approach, my heart is especially with the families navigating this season without someone they love. I know firsthand how heavy this time of year can feel when someone who should be there is missing. I have been blessed beyond words by the kindness, generosity, and love others have shown our family. And as I continue to navigate this journey, I feel called to take some of that love and pour it into others who may need it most. That is why I am so grateful to introduce The Widow’s Wish Project. 8 Women. 18 Families. A Legacy of Love. Through this project, we hope to honor Kyle’s legacy by bringing a little extra love, joy, and light to families who could use it this Christmas. The nomination application is officially OPEN and can be found in my bio or here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScGxVoFnrZRHLsxUVoQmVV1RSbBitcJJJNVd-ggxrlPjDYEsg/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=111042990103217357104 Nominations close November 9th. Please share this video in hopes of reaching widows across the country who need a little extra love this holiday season. “The God of all comfort… comforts us… so that we can comfort those in any trouble.” — 2 Corinthians 1:3–4

A 19-year-old Navy airman had been aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln for 255 grueling days. As the war with Iran raged, he was working 12-hour shifts in the blazing sun. He had missed the birth of his daughter. Food on the aircraft carrier was in short supply. On a Monday in early August, he reached his breaking point and leapt from the ship’s edge, plunging 67 feet into the Arabian Sea, according to records reviewed by The New York Times. He was rescued by a helicopter crew and returned to the ship. Last week, the Navy effectively fired him — moving to discharge the sailor after accusing him of “malingering,” or faking a mental health crisis to end his deployment, according to his wife. At the link in our bio, read more about this case, which offers a rare look at the military’s handling of suicide attempts and mental health issues during extended deployments. Photos by @dontgabalot
