James Talarico’s critics tried “Talafreako” as an insult. I heard a group introduction. 😂 I got a whole bunch of people to say, “I’m a Talafreako,” because, comadre, you don’t get to shame us into silence. 💅 You brought the nickname. We brought the people. 📣 I’m a Talafreako. Now what? 🤷🏽‍♂️ I want an actual argument, and you’re giving me playground nicknames. Now let’s talk about the real issues impacting our communities. #utaustin #austin #talafreako #Tailgate James Talarico, Talafreako, I’m a Talafreako, Texas politics, REAL TALK with JC Frias

The idea of being the “perfect housewife” in the 1940s came with a long list of expectations that would seem almost unimaginable today. 🤍 Women were often expected to maintain a spotless home, prepare dinner before their husbands arrived, dress neatly, greet them with a smile and avoid discussing problems after a long working day. Household advice from the era also encouraged wives to listen patiently, avoid interrupting their husbands, create a peaceful atmosphere and put their husband’s comfort first. Behind this idealised image was a demanding reality. Many women spent their days cooking, cleaning, raising children and managing the household, often without the modern appliances we take for granted. These rules reflected the traditional gender roles promoted at the time, although not every household followed them. Which of these expectations do you think would cause the biggest controversy today? #1940s #history #nostalgia #vintagelife #socialhistory
Had a blast with @ddmcreative I got to play a rich high for a day. 🫰 Fun fact I have never owned ANYTHING designer. 🤷‍♀️ Someday I will! ;)
If you’re stretching your hip flexors, check if you’re making this common mistake. You get into your favorite stretch, usually some kind of lunge, and judge it by the angle between your trunk and thigh, and since it looks deep and feels intense, you assume it’s working. But there’s a piece missing, because between your trunk and thigh sits your pelvis, which moves on its own. If you measure the angle between your pelvis and thigh instead, you’ll often see that the hip isn’t really in extension, so even though you feel tension, it isn’t hitting your hip flexors. Instead, bring your back leg slightly forward to take off some tension and free up your pelvis, and then tuck your pelvis under. That tuck is what creates the hip extension, because when the leg is fixed, you can extend the hip by rotating the pelvis around the head of the femur. If you look at the angles again, you’ll see that even though the leg is less far back, the hip is more extended, which means the stretch is finally targeting what you wanted. Now keep that pelvis position and do your work from there.
