An appeals court on Wednesday ruled that the administration of Mayor Zohran Mamdani can proceed with its efforts to collect a new tax on high-end second homes in New York City, handing the mayor his first major legal victory over a core piece of his progressive agenda.

Uncertainty had clouded the tax for weeks, after a Staten Island judge ruled in September that the city had mishandled the rollout and ordered it to start over. The city immediately appealed, and continued rolling out the tax as the lawsuit proceeded. The decision on Wednesday reversed the lower court judge’s ruling.

The tax still faces other legal challenges. At the link in our bio, read more about what comes next. Photo by @karstenmoran

I’ve been bootstrapping @washedup.app for 9 months now after moving back in with my beautiful mother in Pasadena, CA because I believe in it so much.

Being accepted to an accelerator like @a16z would change the game for WashedUp.

Allow us to go even faster, build a network, a team, and most importantly continue making a difference in people’s lives. (and allow me as a solo founder to have a backing, of people AND investment 🙌)

I wanted to share my submission video to give everyone a look at how I’m trying to tell this story. 3 min isn’t enough time. But maybe someone will hear me 📣
