@functionalpatterns - There is a spectrum when it comes to an exercise being more or less functional. All exercises may carry some level of application, depending on what you're trying to achieve. One thing is for certain though, conventional weightlifting accounts for about .01 percent of what happens when we run.
.
.
If conventional weightlifting only accounts for a tiny fragment of our most important human motions, the remainder of what it isn't potentiating is damaging your body, hence making the activity dysfunctional. Or you can say it's .01 percent functional. However you want to spin it.
.
.
Weightlifters, stay outside of the functional conversation. The jig is up and and several thousand are starting to see the bullshit. Stick to packing on useless mass for the sake of establishing and maintaining a false sense of security. For the sake of your own reputations in the next 5 years, shut up about functionality. .
.
People aren't going be stupid forever. They will look back at the people who dishonestly put themselves in conversations outside of their scope of practice. .
.
We get it. You don't want your audience to leave you. They won't. There are several million out there who move in a linear fashion because they think linearly. They don't care about function. By you talking about function, all you're doing is setting them up to leave you when the injuries and pain pile up. You talking about function is the exit strategy to @functionalpatterns.

Stop it guys. Go back to the gym and do the gym thing.
