Everyone has their own set of unique beliefs, world views, objectives, interests and distractions. The most successful communicators tailor their message based on who they are talking to.
•
Usually what’s top of mind to a CEO will not be the same as what’s top of mind to a CFO.
•
Branding elements like identity, logo, website are super important to some people and trivial to others. •
The trick is not to spend your time convincing someone they are wrong and you are right. The truth is everyone is right. The trick is to spend as much time communicating with the people who either believe what you believe, care about the things you care about or need the services you provide*.
•
*Depending on your goal, not everyone who needs what you provide is a good fit. Generally if they can pay for your services or exchange value for your services (exposure, experience, access) then they are worth your time to engage with.
