Improve your big toe ROM!! ππ¦Ά
Here are just a few of the many exercises you can do regularly to help build the strength, mobility, and range of motion of your big toe! Starting from the easiest and progressing to the most challenging!
1. Squatting with a (
@spacermobility) Toe Mobility Band: This gentle stretch helps to isolate and strengthen your big toe, whilst also helping to counteract/correct bunions. By maintaining tension on the band during a squat, you enhance flexibility and build foundational strength crucial for more advanced movements. (Use code: ROSE for discount or head to the link in my story & bio!)
2. The Duck Walk:. This dynamic movement increases the range of motion and stability in your big toe and foot. As you walk in a low squat, your toes are actively engaged, improving balance and coordination. Travelling exercises like this help to build mobility as you are using your bodyweight to deepen your range, building strength in that end range of motion.
3. Sissy Squats: (Yes, these again π) Sissy Squats demand a higher level of big toe and ankle strength and mobility. By leaning back and rising onto your toes, this exercise intensifies toe engagement, strengthening your feet and improving overall stability. A wide toe spread is essential for optimal performance of this movement.
Good mobility and range of motion in your big toe are crucial for maintaining balance, enhancing performance, and preventing injuries. Try implementing one, or all, of these movements into your workout routine daily! π
