“People who live with chronic pain deal very literally with shrinking options in their lives. If and how they can work, exercise, socialise, travel. Usual activities are affected, all subjected to scrutiny: what is possible, what is not?”-
I haven’t been able to draw without severe pain since July 27. I woke up the following morning with my right arm feeling like my muscles were being continuously shredded, couldn’t lift up my arm or really do anything. I gave into the pain Monday morning and went to the ER who did a whole lot of nothing. They did a X-ray EVERYTHING but my neck which is needed to make sure there’s wrong with the hardware in my spine.
They pumped me up with an anti inflammatory that I shouldn’t have even been given because of interactions with meds I’m already on. Turns out the doctor never checked my current medications. Then I find out that she doesn’t even know I have RA and RPC. So I had a nice long day of aggravation with no breaks from the pain, as usual.
My rheumatologist thinks this has something to with a anterior cervical discectomy on my c5 and C6 from 4 years back. Which means that nothing will help alleviate the pain until my spine gets corrected.
