December 16, 2022. A day that will always be important to me. I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since you have been gone. This past year has been one of the worst years of my life without you there cheering me on. Wishing that you were able to see me walk across the stage and receive my diploma, wishing you could see me start my college journey, and wishing you were just here. I got to wear your high school ring as I graduated high school. I got to play your favorite game at the casino on my cruise, Blackjack. I get to walk around campus in your favorite UNC jacket. A whole year since my best friend and number one supporter has passed. Every holiday and family gathering it just feels like something is missing. It hasn’t gotten any easier. I miss hearing your voice in person. I love you and hope you are watching down on me. I wear your clothes to remind me that you are still here with me, just not physically. I miss you so much Poppy Jack. Thank you for being the best grandfather that anyone could ask for and you are missed dearly.
