This story spans several generations of a Dakhota Native American family. The main character is shaped by an absent mother with mental illness and the father who raises her while struggling with alcohol addiction and ultimately the foster care system. She finds her roots through the collection and preservation of seeds and after the death of her husband, returns to the small rustic cabin she once shared with the father she adored. In the end I think it’s a story of how we all want to know our history and belong to a clan. I loved it!!!
