What being woke looks like to me I filmed this video two years ago, with a heart full of hope that a woman who was capable and educated and qualified would be elected to lead our country. We all know how that turned out. It was heartbreaking, baffling, infuriating —and I had this deep feeling of dread. I knew the next two years would be bad, I just didn’t know they would look like this. I couldn’t believe how many people decided not to vote at all. Too many people have fought and díed and clawed their way to get us the right to choose. What an insult to them when we squander our opportunity to have a say in our government. I’ve always looked at candidates like buses— you won’t get one that gets you to exactly where you want to go. So, you have to pick the one that gets you the closest. The perfect candidate does not exist. There will never be one that believes everything that you believe, that prioritizes things the way that you would. So, you have to pick the one that gets you the closest to the world that you want to live in. This is not the world that I want to live in. Where people live in fear, are shot in the streets, who come here looking for a better life and are instead rounded up like animals and put in cages. Where women are watching their rights be stripped away one by one. Where did our humanity go? What happened to loving your neighbor? I’m not religious, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t what your Bible tells you to do. I’m not sure when being wide awake became an insult, but my eyes have been wide open and watching what has unfolded here. And I’ll be damned if I’m going to squander my opportunity to change it. 💙✊🏼 🗳️

Yesterday I showed you my gold Technics, and today, just like I promised, here’s my first ever mix with vinyl! 💿 I ordered two of these limited-edition gold Technics turntables, but they’re arriving one at a time. The second one should be here soon, so today I’m playing on one turntable and my CDJ-3000s. I’m already loving vinyl, and I’ll definitely keep mixing records with my CDJs. Once my second Technics arrives, I can finally record an all-vinyl set for you on two turntables! 😍 I know you guys love my emotional mixes, so I picked one of my favorites for today. This one’s for you ❤️
Democrats have routed Republicans across the US with historic victories that will give them powerful new leverage over Donald Trump for the remainder of his presidency. Among the party's wins, Democrats regained control of both chambers of Congress for the first time since 2022, giving them the ability to hold up not just Trump’s legislative agenda, but also any appointments he makes to his cabinet or the federal judiciary – including the supreme court, where conservatives have a 6-3 majority. The party regained control of the Senate after their candidates won in a host of states where they hadn’t had success in years, if not decades, including South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Iowa and Kansas. Democrats also hope to unseat two-term Republican Dan Sullivan in Alaska, but the result in that race may take days to be decided. Follow the link in bio for the latest election updates.
