Back in the day when I had an iPod shuffle, Cameron and I used to listen to this song all the time. I would have the left earbud and he would have the right, and we would sing this together to the top of our lungs. I don't know if he understood all the themes, but he probably did. He was always way beyond his years in intelligence.
Makenzie Diane. It was never about the result, but WHO you’ve become through every setback, triumph, heartbreak, and victory- ALL of it was valuable. Since day one, we’ve run side by side- laughing, encouraging each other, dreaming, failing, rising, and supporting each other every step of the way. That’s always been my favorite part of running with you- far more than our medals. You’ve overcome so much in the last two years- your resilience and “never give up” attitude has inspired me in more ways than you’ll ever know. I’m so blessed to call you my daughter. While I’m beaming with pride for the gritty performance you had on Friday and the amazing breakthrough I got to witness, I’m most proud of your character and the woman you’re continually becoming. I love you sunshine. Keep shining bright. Keep being Makenzie. 💛mama 🔥And to everyone reading this, take a moment to send gratitude and love for the powerful women in your life. We are stronger together when we lift each other up.🔥 It was never about the running…keep going. ABSOLUTELY NOT WRITTEN BY AI 😤 #wcw#womenInSport @makenzie.mcrae 📸: @theschultzee
Kindness. Grace. Generosity. Here is a young man on Halloween, not thinking about what he could receive, but seeing an opportunity to give. He saw a need others might have overlooked and found an unexpected way to meet it. May his simple act of generosity inspire us all to look a little closer, care a little more, and find creative and unexpected ways to give to others. May we see more of this. May we be more of this. op: manny86ortiz
