The highs and lows of autism family life... One minute they're completely fixated on something, and we'll spend ages trying to find exactly what he wants. Then, when we finally get it, he doesn't want it anymore. Or his attention shifts to something else, and if it's something we can't give him, the frustration can become overwhelming. Sometimes that frustration leads to him hurting himself, and then a few hours later, he's having the time of his life. That's the reality of raising a non-verbal autistic child with high support needs. Things can change so quickly, and you never quite know what the next few hours will bring. 💙 #autism #nonverbalautism #autismparenting #AutismFamily #autismawareness
