Cool Stuff For Camera Operators

ATHENA…Behind the scenes for a piece of a long sequence shot. This shot was designed over weeks of rehearsals to achieve the perfection of Director @romaingavras , DoP @boucardmatias did multiple handheld versions before myself and the crew got onboard. The shot was then refined once we got all the toys together to perfect the choreography between actor @dalibenssalah, focus @lara_perrotte Grip @sebgrrr Tracking vehicle @conseil_travelling_cascade and then more days of rehearsals to perfect the timing between all of us to step on and off the vehicles and cranes. The camera package for this part was the @arri MiniLF with @angenieuxlenses zoom supplied by @rvzparis and @camerasetparis . I had to use 2 @smallhd monitors to see the frame in multiple angles on the @freeflysystems MoviPro . We had to have motors for variable ND,focus and zoom so it was a bit tricky balancing and the weight was tough for such a long shot where every second counts so mistakes were not an option. On top of all this we had to achieve the shot in the perfect last light. This was a complete TEAM effort and would be impossible without all the moving parts involved.
