Democrats have officially won control of both the House and Senate‼️ According to the Associated Press, Democrats secured enough seats in the 2026 midterms to take majorities in both chambers of Congress. Reuters also confirmed the sweep after Democrats flipped several Republican-held seats across the country. The results mark the first midterm election since 2006 where control of both the House and Senate changed parties. Democrats will officially take control when the new Congress is seated in January 2027. What do y’all think of the midterm results⁉️
James Talarico won the US Senate race in Texas, capping an improbable ascent from little-known state lawmaker to overcome a well-funded Republican opponent and become the state’s first Democrat elected to the chamber since 1988. Talarico’s victory amounts to a political earthquake in the second-most populous US state after years of Republican domination. Talarico propelled himself to national stardom with viral social media posts and appearances on programs such as the “Joe Rogan Experience” and the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert."

Olukemi Olufunto Adegoke not only erases her own history, now she is rewriting ours. Our huge history in slavery, colonialism, has already been lwhitewashed or erased, denied or buried. It has taken huge work and a long walk to get black historical accounts added to the record and taught in state schools, and only then during black history month. (Not in private schools) And. Now this. Her view on reparations is equally sickening. We have been paying reparations to slave OWNERS, the equivalent of £billions to slave owners since 1833, only finally paying off that debt in 2015, taxpayers money paid that debt. And she won’t even offer an apology to the families of those enslaved, slaughtered, and destroyed?! Aghast. #uk #blm #british #empire #slave
