Broccoli Cheddar Chicken Pot Pie with puff pastry crust 🥦🧀Day 5 of 6 in our 11th annual Sally’s Pie Week #sallyspieweek Comment SEND and we’ll dm you the full recipe with instructions, notes, storage, make-ahead and freezing tips, plus 50+ pie recipes from all 10 years of Sally’s Pie Week. It’s all linked in my bio now, too @sallysbakeblog -4 Tbsp (56g) unsalted butter -¾ cup (98g) diced yellow or sweet onions -1½ cups (195g) diced carrots -4 garlic cloves, minced -1 1/4 tsp salt -1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper -⅛ tsp ground nutmeg -½ cup (62g) all-purpose flour -1½ cups (360g/ml) chicken broth -1½ cups (360g/ml) whole milk -8 oz (226g) sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded -1 lb (454g) cooked chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces -12-16 oz (340-454g) broccoli florets, cut small -1–1.5 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed but still cold (about 245–368g) -egg wash (1 egg whisked with 1 Tbsp milk) 1. Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). 2. In a large cast-iron braiser or skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the onions and carrots and cook, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. 3. Add the flour, salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and stir until the flour coats the veggies and no dry flour remains. In a slow and steady stream, pour in the chicken broth and then the milk. Whisk until no flour lumps remain, then simmer over medium-low heat until thick, about 10 mins. 4. Turn off heat. Stir in the cheese, chicken, and broccoli. If your pan is not oven-safe, transfer the filling to a lightly greased casserole dish. 5. Unroll the thawed puff pastry sheet(s). With a lightly floured rolling pin, lightly roll the puff pastry into a square or rectangle that’s around 1/8-inch thick. Using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, cut into squares or rectangles about 2.5–3 inches in size. Arrange the puff pastry pieces, overlapping, on top of the filling. Brush with egg wash. 6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the puff pastry is deeply golden and puffed. 7. Cool10 minutes before serving. https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/broccoli-cheddar-chicken-pot-pie/

Ankita Bhandari’s parents were dragged from Raj Ghat on Wednesday evening as they staged a ‘maun vrat’ or a silent protest to demand justice in her m*rder case. During the protest, Bhandari’s mother, Soni Devi, reportedly fainted. Activist Yogita Bhayana said the mother collapsed after police forcefully removed the family from the site. Bhayana also alleged that after Soni Devi fainted, the police delayed taking her to the hospital, and then took her nearly 16 kilometers away to the Burari Hospital. The family has been demanding a fair CBI investigation in the case. They also demand a revocation of BJP leader Dushyant Gautam’s appointment as the Governor of Sikkim, alleging that he is the “VIP” involved in their daughter’s m*rder.
