Colleagues, this year, I am participating in the International Journalism Festival in Perugia, Italy. At the invitation of colleagues from the Lviv Media Forum, I have joined as a speaker a panel discussion "The recovery of Ukraine is impossible without the recovery of the Ukrainian media".
☕ If you are also in Perugia at the moment, I would be glad to meet for a coffee, have a chat, learn about your projects. Who knows, maybe we could find points of collaboration.
I'm interested in exchanging experiences with those involved in:
🔥 Working for or leading local media outlets, networks or related projects.
🔥 Documenting war crimes, working with topics of memorialization, honoring the memory or human rights organizations.
🔥Developing innovative media projects experimenting with formats, AI, constantly seeking and testing new ways to engage with the audience.
Here's what I can share and discuss:
🔥Experience in developing a network of local media outlets. In 2017, we developed our own CMS platform, The City, and launched 60 local media outlets on it, nine of which were launched after the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine. Some of our editorial offices were located in temporarily occupied towns. Editorial teams moved and continued updating websites daily (and they remain essentially the only Ukrainian platforms there).
🔥Memorialization and documentation of war crimes in Ukraine. For the past two years, we have been working on the Memory platform, publishing 7000 stories about Ukrainians who were killed because of the Russian invasion, 15 documentary films, and implementing numerous large-scale projects aimed at honoring and preserving memory. Also, we collaborate with international human rights organizations.
So, if you want to meet, talk, discuss, let me know.
