‘Everyone knows why we lost,’ Vice President JD Vance took to X to share his lengthy post-election thoughts and it seems like he is ready to put distance between himself and Trump’s agenda. Vance said that he felt ‘felt negative going into Tuesday’ because data suggested that Republicans would lose their support from 2024. “The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026.“ Vance blamed Trump’s Iran war, the cost of living and the U.S. relationship with Israel for MAGA’s huge loss. - - - #HeresWhy #MAGA #Republicans #DonaldTrump #News

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Evidence indicates parts of plane broke off before it crashed in South Florida and killed 9, federal investigators say. AP’s earlier story is below. A business jet crashed into a South Florida neighborhood and erupted into a ball of flames, killing all nine people on board and leaving a fiery crater. The cause was not immediately clear, but federal investigators are expected to provide an update Monday. Video recorded by passersby captured the terrifying moment on Sunday afternoon when the Bahamas-bound aircraft plunged from the sky before slamming into the ground and exploding in Greenacres, about 7 miles (11 kilometers) southwest of West Palm Beach. Flames flickered around chunks of pavement lining the crater as shocked residents looked on in horror. Thick black smoke engulfed the crash site. “Debris was everywhere. Debris hit my house. Everything was on fire. The road was on fire,” Anthony Blackmon, who lives near the crash site, told NBC affiliate WTVJ. “I’ve always seen it on the news, never thought it would happen so close to somebody like how it happened today.” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said there were no immediate reports of anyone on the ground injured or killed. Authorities have not released the names of the people who died. Palm Beach County authorities evacuated about 600 people from a nearby mobile home community while the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board investigate the crash. Authorities have not provided any information about what caused the Bahamas-bound jet to crash. NTSB officials planned to hold a news conference in West Palm Beach on Monday afternoon. The jet began its journey at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas. Airport spokesperson Jim Reynolds described it as a private aircraft but could not immediately provide details about who was on board. Camila Corteleti told the New York Post and New York Times that her daughter, 20-year-old Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, was one of the pilots. She earned her pilot’s license in 2023 while a 17-year-old senior at West Boca Raton Community High School in Florida, local news reports said at the time.

Mother sentenced to 7 consecutive life terms after her 11-year-old daughter gives birth at home to her husband’s baby A woman in Oklahoma, United States, has been sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences after failing to protect her 11-year-old daughter from sexual abuse and then allowing the child to give birth at home without medical assistance after she became pregnant with the her husband’s child. Cherie Walker was sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences by a Muskogee County judge on Friday, October 30, 2026, per Oklahoma City Fox affiliate, KOKL and public Muskogee County court records reviewed by PEOPLE. Walker, 34, was charged with one count of child sexual abuse and six counts of child neglect in August 2025 after authorities learned that her 11-year-old daughter had given birth to a baby inside the family’s home without prenatal care or medical assistance on August 16, 2025, according to reports from local outlets. In a statement to KOTV at the time, Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson said that both Walker and her husband, Dustin Walker, claimed that they did not know the child was pregnant when she gave birth. “This child is traumatized,” Hutson said. “She’s been through a horrific ordeal. I mean, not only has somebody gotten her pregnant, but she gave birth at home without medical assistance, and this will be her life for the rest of her life.” In another statement to KJRH, the district attorney’s office said that DNA testing confirmed that Walker’s husband — the child’s stepfather — was the baby’s father. Prosecutors later argued that Walker knew her husband was sexually abusing her daughter but did nothing to stop it. She was convicted on all seven felony counts on July 17, 2026. The child’s stepfather pleaded guilty to felony child sexual abuse and neglect charges in March. He was later sentenced to life in prison.
Long before the building became a public library, it was home to one of Chicago’s most unusual and talked about drinking spots. Known as the Midget Club, the tavern attracted plenty of attention and became a popular destination for people looking for something different from the city’s traditional nightlife. Now, rare footage offers a fascinating glimpse inside the bar and the atmosphere that once made it so memorable. The footage comes from I Married a Munchkin, a film by Chicago filmmaker Tom Palazzolo. His work documented everyday life and some of the more unusual corners of the city, preserving scenes that might otherwise have disappeared from public memory. This particular footage gives viewers a chance to see the Midget Club as it actually looked while it was still operating. The tavern eventually closed after the city acquired the property and the building was cleared to make way for a public library. The decision became controversial among people who believed the establishment had a place in the neighbourhood and questioned whether another location could have been used for the library instead. Today, the footage serves as a reminder of how quickly familiar places can disappear as cities change and redevelop. Whether the library was worth the loss of the tavern is still an interesting question, especially for those who remember the Midget Club. Would you have saved the bar or supported the library?
