If Democrats had spent much of President Donald Trump’s second term searching for a way to break his grip on Washington, voters had now handed them one. The midterms generated a blue wave that swept Republicans out of power in the House and the Senate, reversing the party’s fortunes just two years after Trump’s return to the White House. The results amounted to a decisive rebuke of a President whose handling of the economy, rising prices, and the war with Iran had fueled widespread discontent, and who spent the closing days of the campaign musing about candidates’ anatomy and dismissing Americans’ concerns over their bottom line. For the first time since Trump returned to Washington, Democrats will be able to set the legislative agenda, compel testimony from Administration officials, investigate allegations of corruption, and force Republicans to take difficult votes. Party leaders see an opportunity to turn the public’s discontent with Trump into a sustained argument for returning Democrats to the White House in 2028. Interviews with more than two dozen Democratic leaders, strategists, and members of Congress reveal a party itching to fight on nearly every front the President has opened. But when the midterm victory laps conclude, the Democrats’ deeper problems will be waiting for them. Even leading up to their midterm victory, surveys showed the party remains unpopular. Its leaders are divided over how far left to move, what kind of economic message will win back the voters who abandoned them in 2024, and how aggressively to confront Trump. Your most asked questions, answered 👇 🎮 Is this real gameplay or AI footage? It’s a real game. The clips come from the build itself. A full playthrough video is coming soon. 🛠 Do you use AI? Yes, as tools. Claude Code for coding, ElevenLabs for sound effects, Tripo for 3D models. I make the game solo. 🧟 Is it like Project Zomboid? Inspired by Kenshi, RimWorld, RDR2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Project Zomboid, but it’s its own game. Built for an isometric view, with first-person play planned too. 🗓 When is the release? Closed playtest in December. Full release hopefully in April 2027. The sign-up link is in my profile. 🖥 Steam? Yes, coming soon. 📱 Mobile and consoles? PC first, then a reduced mobile version. Consoles may come after release, no promises. 🤝 Multiplayer? Co-op for 4–8 players first. Each player can host their own server. More later. ⚙️ Why does it lag? It runs on raw, unoptimized code right now, and the snow system is heavy. I’ll optimize before release. 🎶 Collaborations? Not right now. I’m building the core solo first, and a team later if it makes sense. 🔗 Discord, Patreon and the playtest link are all in my profile. #survivalgame #zombiegame #indiegame #godot #gamedev
