I hired an 11 piece band, did all the promo, programs, music directed, prepped costumes ( @singinginthesnow literally made his outfit from a pic I sent him!) What a night.
Honored to play the legendary #teenamarie it’s so natural for me to sing her music. This show & her life giving music helped me through a tough time. I never got to meet her but I performed w/her OG band, met some of her family members & best friends & get called Teena everyday when I lived in Harlem for a year. She is a bad ass & I had the best time sharing a little bit of her story. 🫶🏽🎶🎤
PS no effects, no auto tune, and just 1 rehearsal with Rick. Excited to see what we can do when we fine tune this performance. 👌🙌

Girl please get to CT or NY you’re a big part of my story. Your voice singing lady Gaga was amazing. And then we maintained contact. I watched you struggle with the fires while worrying more about others. and just remembered how you owned the whole Hidalgo street that night and your vibe of knowing you’re amazing is awesome. That was one of the most important days I’ve ever spent on the island in total and it ended with pure joy. When I was struggling last year you offered to do a self help program with me and I was too broken to do it then. I want you to know that was one of the most generous genuine offers I’ve ever heard of and I hope for an opportunity to do good for you someday. If you ever struggle I got you.
