The first time I heard a certain song by
@renmakesmusic I bawled my eyes out. It won’t allow me to add it to this post because of the title. As a survivor of trying to end it all in my early twenties, it not only made me see the other side of what’s left after you’re gone, but also how much more mental health awareness can literally save lives. We need to remove the stigma around mental health and seeking support. I didn’t even know until recently the medication I was given for my mental health had studies showing it made people more high risk. The very thing trying to help you could also take you out. It’s all about the money to them. We need more support, research and dedication to something that’s affecting millions of people.
This song inspired me to start embroidery again, this is my second attempt ever at making anything, these lyrics struck me so hard. As an empath I am like a sponge to others emotions, whether I want to be or not. It can be overwhelming, my social battery runs low, my depression resurfaced and my anxiety makes me physically sick. Music has been a constant in my life. It grounds me, makes me feel seen and heard and that I am not alone. I also never thought I’d love
#rapmusic so much, I love many types of
#music but this genre always floated by me.
I want to thank Ren for this beautiful gift made out of so much turmoil, torture and pain.
Thankyou to my friends and family for encouraging me, helping me with this project and the next due to come.
Special thanks to an amazing friend and talented creator for taking the photos outdoors with me on a crazy windy day off work.
