Finding yourself in creativity can be so easy to do each day, yet it is also very difficult. Balance is everything.

We all have our own reason to wake up in the morning. Sometimes that reason isn’t there when we wake up. Maybe it’s missing, we have to go look for it. Maybe it won’t show up for a while.

I have a few reasons to wake up in the morning, but they’re not always there. I love photographing surf and wildlife in the ocean. But the waves aren’t always good or photogenic, and wildlife can be as desolate as it can be plentiful. Sometimes you have to go look for the reason.

And just because you find the motivation deep down to look for that reason one day finally, doesn’t mean that you’ll find it.

Creavity can be a barren abyss. Like writer’s block, but in the form of a black hole that sucks all the inspiration out, leaving the mind to rot.

On the other hand, the overconsumption and endless hits of dopamine only last so long. Too much of anything eventually becomes a little stale.

Yet, it’s in the moments where the black hole void of no creativity takes over that I find my greatest sources of creativity. An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backwards.

Find color in the grey, find light in the dark, find a reason to wake up, when everything is telling you to stay asleep.
