Attending Art Center in Pasadena I needed tires for my motorcycle. I asked the knowledgeable dealer for soft tires and he asked why? I mentioned that I enjoyed Angeles Crest runs most Sundays. He pointed out that the numerous death there. He also pointed out that on racetracks everyone is going in the same direction. He helped me prepare my bike for the track and drive me out to Willow Springs for a race weekend. It was fantastic. $50 for race school and track heats. I saw my first super kart races as well. A great track. No guard rails! Just desert run off! Thanks to everyone!

I went to high school with Greg Huth whose father started ( built) Willow Springs. Back in the 60’s we’d drive out to Rosemund, sneak into the track and drive around on the paved portion.
