Happy to share with you that my new film ´Lomme´s garden´ will be shown in museum M as part of the ´Hidden in plain sight´ exhibition.
The garden of Lomme is located in Itterbeek, my childhood home, a small town on the outskirts of Brussels. It was only after passing the garden many times on my bike and waving to Lomme that I decided to go and talk to him. A few years ago I started filming and created a simple structure: for each season I use 1 roll of film with the Bolex camera, which is more or less three minutes per season. We enter his little paradise where sunflowers, salads, kale, chicory, pumpkins, birds and bees are ruling the land. We see crops growing and being harvested. In the background the radio is playing while he explains what he does in the garden. My intention with this film is to share Lomme´s passion and knowledge about growing vegetables and to see how the cyclical seasons change. To celebrate the art of cultivating vegetables and explore their potential origins.

Of the group exhibition ´Hidden in plain sight´ which brings together twelve artists whose works are rooted in their everyday surroundings.
