Philippines 🇵🇭 it was a quick trip, but it felt like the BEST & LONGEST MOVIE I’ve ever been a part of❤️‍🔥🤯 So many insane matchups. Some of the best & strongest competitors I’ve played against in Asia. And I got to meet tons of new friends along the way. Philippines, yall are family to me now. I can’t wait to come back soon and do a full tour of the entire country. We only did 3 events but they were some of the BIGGEST & CRAZIEST events I’ve done this year. That explains how serious the basketball culture is here, and I can’t wait for ISO 1v1 to build its home in the country. It’s only makes sense 🤞🫡 It’s sad to say goodbye, so instead, I’m going to say SEE YOU VERY SOON. I LOVE YOU🙏🇵🇭❤️‍🔥 #mattkiatipis #philippines #1v1basketball #mk #streetball
I did a deep dive into MIDI health’s compounded sermorelin. Could there BE any less evidence? (Read with a Chandler Bing voice). We have no safety data or efficacy data. I could find only one study from 2006. And that is using an FDA approved version, not this compound. MIDI does not link to any quality studies. One of the review chapters they link to actually states: To date, definitive conclusions regarding the functional effects of treatments, aimed at increasing growth hormone levels in healthy aged individuals compared to those of young healthy persons have been elusive until more studies are undertaken… conclusive statements about the merits of treatment cannot be made. Because midi health prescribes MHT does not give them a pass to sell sermorelin. If you use them and are happy, great. I am not judging you. I am judging midi. But ask yourself, what kind of onboarding happens with clinicians when these kinds of products are for sale and that they will be expected to manage? And if they are promoting this, what might that say about how they interpret other medical evidence. How do you dose something and monitor it when there are no studies to guideline you? Inevitably, mIdi clinicians come into my DMs defining the company. Really, you are defending this? Show me some actual data. Head to TheVajenda.com to read all the details
Listen, I love lifting as much as the next person. But the lifting community has GOT to stop acting like avoiding cardio is some sort of accomplishment. We’ve spent years advocating for the importance of resistance training (rightfully so), but somewhere along the way, some of y’all decided that lifting was the only form of exercise necessary for long-term health. Unfortunately, that’s not how physiology works 🙂 Resistance & aerobic training produce overlapping but distinct adaptations, & BOTH are vital if your goal is to live a long, healthy, physically capable life. Cardiorespiratory fitness measured by VO₂ max is one of the strongest predictors of all-cause mortality. Higher levels of fitness are consistently associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease, chronic illness, & death. While lifting absolutely provides some cardiovascular benefits, dedicated aerobic training is needed to improve your heart’s ability to pump blood, increase mitochondrial adaptations, improve oxygen delivery & utilization, & build the endurance needed to sustain activity. Resistance training, meanwhile, is particularly effective for improving muscular strength, preserving muscle mass, supporting bone health, a&nd maintaining physical function as we age. There’s a reason the ACSM Physical Activity Guidelines recommend BOTH aerobic exercise and resistance training! And before someone starts screaming about cArDio KilLiNg tHeIr GaInS, concurrent training research shows that you can absolutely improve cardiovascular fitness while building strength & muscle. You just need to program it appropriately. You don’t need to run marathons, sign up for a HYROX, or suddenly become a triathlete. Walking briskly, hiking, swimming, biking, running, or whatever gets you moving at an appropriate intensity all count! If longevity is genuinely your goal, stop treating cardiovascular fitness like an optional accessory exercise. Lift heavy shit, train your aerobic engine, & give yourself the best chance of being a questionably strong, capable old fart. The potato community is catching strays, but the lifting community needs to hear it 🥔 So, do you even cardio, bro??
One week until we head to Skate America. 🇺🇸🦅 @benoitrichaud @usfigureskating @isufigureskating
