This request was posted on our neighborhood app. I didn’t think we would getto DuPont Circle in time. Went to Meridian Hill Park near our house. I was hoping there would be others. In solidarity. And there is a comfort and power in numbers. But what we each do individually counts as much, if not more. So we kneeled alone. Not because that in itself will change anything. But as a reminder of the horror and injustice. As a reminder not to just be a compassionate but complacent bystander. As a reminder of just how long 8 minutes can be. And in honor of George Floyd and too many others. May you Rest In Peace and May it be the catalyst for change so overdue and so needed.😔
