Goodbye, my love.

I still remember when we first met. You actually were living with a neighbor, separated from your brother Hercules which you can now finally see again, and you hopped the fence almost every day to see him. The neighbors wanted to send you to the pound, but I knew in my heart I couldn’t let that happen.

I love you so much. You were the best dog I could have ever asked for; you taught me unconditional love and reminded me so constantly that it costs absolutely nothing to show kindness and love everyone around you. Your death will not be in vain, I will aim to honor your kindness and sweetness in every single one of my actions. You made this world a little bit more kind and gentle for me to live in, and I aim to do the same for others.

I will miss your iconic underbite and your uncanny ability to howl to every birthday song. I will always remember the way you watched me walk to school and barked when I went out of sight. Most of all, I will miss your ability to be happy and warm and loving through all things. You may be gone but your love will live through me and I will make sure that everyone I meet knows how wonderful and amazing you were. I love you Ali, say hi to Hercules and Butch for me! 💖
