The first open mic I ever did was at cap in 2011. I just turned 17 and didn’t know (still don’t) how to write a joke. We’ll always remember Cap for the people we met there, and the time spent pacing in the back. But I think it’s really cool that so long as the internet exists kids will see the Bill Hicks bootlegs, or listen to werewolves and lollipops, or watch the Ari Shaffir special and feel the urge to do stand up in Austin.
