My First grouper of the year will probably be my best for a long time on rod and reel. Still can’t believe I landed this black grouper the way I did on 50lb test with light weight slow pitch jigging gear. 93.6lbs 55 inches on a certified scale and measuring board that fwc biologist Jill popham kindly helped me do and helped me with the paperwork for a potential igfa world record, it beat the 60lb line class world record by 2.6lbs ! Landed on my temple reef levitate 68-2 with accurate valiant 500. Beyond thankful for catches like this.
