Derp of the Woods

Amber jelly roll! aka Exidia recisa. My wife found these growing on a few small branches on our hike. I got really excited and misidentified them as wood ear mushrooms. When I got home and realized they were amber jelly roll, I was a little disappointed. Either way, cool looking fungi. Didn't end up cooking with it, as most of the recipes I've seen online, people were just watching them pop in the pan like popcorn. No thank you! #exidia #fungi #mycology #jellyfungi #amberjellyroll #amberjelly #jellyroll #fantasticfungi #fungiphotography
