TOWITHFROM’s TWF PICKS is a growing collection of found objects from the bazaars and markets of India. Each object speaks about the culture, tradition and lifestyle of the people it is found amidst. And of course the place itself. These objects derive their appreciation from the beauty of their utility and their maker’s perseverance against the buyer’s bias towards cheaper, industrially made alternatives. Which often function better and the competition is of-course justified. What makes a consumer choose either is the lens through which the qualities of the product’s superiority are perceived, even if that choice may be subconscious. Over time, TWF PICKS will most likely adopt similar criteria for these selections, albeit introducing a new objective –– that of sharing the objects with a new audience who may preserve them as souvenirs of their source cultures. A time/culture capsule of sorts.

The TWF MADE OF INDIA line includes contemporary handmade products designed in collaboration with craftspeople from different regions of India. The products imbibe collaborative attempts seeking to uncover a new Indian-ness.

The TWF ORIGINALS line consists of objects designed in partnership with small workshops and semi-industrial making units that may or may not be handmade or craft by definition.
