HU Staff: Ariela Anís @ari.anis Congratulations! Democrat Xavier Becerra has not only defeated Republican Steve Hilton to win California’s gubernatorial race, but he’s also made history, becoming the states’ first elected Latino Governor. Becerra is Mexican American. ___________________________________________________ On Tuesday evening (November 3), news outlets reported Becerra’s projected historic win. The feat sees Democrats maintaining control of the nation’s largest state with Becerra succeeding Gavin Newsom. Becerra defeated Hilton, who is a Republican and former Fox News host was endorsed by President Donald Trump. ___________________________________________________ While reacting to the huge historic win, Becerra told a crowd at his watch party, “What a great night to be a Californian. What a great night to be an American, to be the son of immigrants, from a Union household.” The audience erupted in chants of “¡Sí se puede!” On X, Becerra wrote, “We did it, California. Thank you. I’m honored to be your next Governor, and I’ll fight for every family in this state, every single day. Let’s get to work.” In another X post, he wrote, “Now the real work begins. Thank you and Gracias, California.” ___________________________________________________ Click the link in bio for full story 📸 CNN
HISTORY MADE IN FLORIDA: Republican Byron Donalds celebrates his victory in the governor's race, becoming the first Black governor elected in the Sunshine State's history. "Thank you, Florida! I am humbled and grateful beyond measure. As your Governor, I will give you everything I have." Donalds defeats Democrat David Jolly in a closely contested race to succeed term-limited Gov. Ron DeSantis. "We are going to make life in Florida more affordable. We are going to keep our streets safe. We are going to invest in our young people so that they can attain the Florida Dream that all of us love so dearly," Donalds says in his victory message. After 18 months and one full tear-out and rebuild, our ceiling has finally earned the recognition she really deserves. #AD Faux beams have their place, but before you commit to them, it’s worth asking whether you actually want beams (which lean more rustic) or whether you want something a little more elegant. That’s the difference a coffered ceiling makes. It brings real depth and architecture to a room in a way that feels so much more elegant, and it’s honestly more doable than it looks. If you’re dreaming about adding some character overhead, everything I used from @homedepot is in my Storefront, linked in my bio. You can also comment CEILING and I’ll send the link straight to you so you can start planning your own. #HomeDepotCreator #WhatAreYouWorkingOn
