People who jump know that Slovenia has what is probably the most beautiful civilian skydiving drop zone in Europe. As you might know, they put on a summer Boogie (party) last week that I was fortunate enough to attend. One of the highlights for me was being able to jump out of a helicopter for the first time. It was such a smooth ride up, and because it hovered so slowly at the top, it’s quite more pleasant to exit versus the violent exit out of an airplane at speed. This is actually my second helicopter jump that day, the first was somewhat of a failure (but still fun) as I rushed at the exit and slipped from the skid and fell 5,000 feet to certain death, whereas with this one I was able to slowly climb down (as if my life depended on it) to the skid to hang on to grab enough footage for this post. Maybe next week I’ll track down the footage of me slipping on my previous jump to post as a reel for you all to laugh at.
