This is for my family who supported my dreams even though we had no blueprint to it- you didnt see many folks that looked like us working in entertainment and our bloodline for sure as hell never did anything in it before. But they supported me blindly, told me ‘shoulders back chin up’ every time I was scared, discouraged, fearful that my dreams were too big for a latina girl. They cheered on my wins and dusted me off when things would all go to shit. They would wear all the free merch I would give them to support records and artists no one had ever heard about. They were maybe scared too but never let me see it and always told me I was capable of everything I dreamt of. This isn’t a Grammy but damn today it for sure as hell feels like one because my heart is filled with the pride that I know my family has in this honor and recognition. MAMA WE MADE IT!!!
